Shape meets personal fit

How the
SpineAlign Pillow
works.

A contour gives you a starting point. Adjustable fill makes it yours.

The SpineAlign Pillow combines two raised outer chambers with a lower center cradle. Move between your side and back, then fine-tune the fill in each chamber to suit the way you sleep.

Three chambers. Your combination.Outer chambers for your side. Center cradle for your back.

Understand the shape

One pillow.
More than one way to fit.

Designed by chiropractor Dr. Jason Loth, the pillow pairs a shaped sleeping surface with fill you can adjust. You don’t have to choose one fixed height for every part of the pillow.

Three separate chambers.

The two outer chambers are for side sleeping. The center cradle gives back sleepers a lower place to rest their head, with a raised edge to support the neck. Adjust each chamber independently instead of changing the whole pillow at once.

A higher and lower edge.

The two long edges have different profiles. Turn the pillow around to try the other height before making a big change to the fill. Your preferred edge depends on your build, mattress and sleeping position—not just your height.

Fill you can fine-tune.

Zippered openings give you access to the shredded foam inside. Remove a small amount to reduce loft—the pillow’s height—or move fill around to change where it feels supportive. Keep the foam you remove so you can put some back later.

Start with how you sleep

Different positions.
Different starting points.

Make your adjustments on the mattress you actually sleep on. The way your shoulders settle into the bed helps determine how much pillow height feels comfortable.

On your side

Support above
the shoulder.

Rest your head on one of the outer chambers, with your shoulder on the mattress beside the pillow. The contour makes room for your shoulder while the chamber supports your head.

  • Start with the edge that feels comfortable. Try the higher logo-side edge or turn the pillow around to try the lower one.
  • Check the height while lying down. Your head should not feel tipped noticeably toward the mattress or lifted away from it.
  • Adjust that outer chamber. Remove a little fill if it feels too high. Redistribute fill or return some saved foam if you need more support.

On your back

A lower cradle.
A supported neck.

Settle your head into the middle of the pillow rather than on an outer chamber. Let the raised edge sit beneath your neck, then adjust the center fill for a relaxed, comfortable position.

  • Notice where your chin rests. You should not feel that the pillow is pushing your head forward or tucking your chin toward your chest.
  • Fine-tune the center first. Move or remove small amounts of fill, close the zipper, and lie back down to check the change.
  • Try the other edge if needed. Turning the pillow around gives you a different neck-support height without changing the outer chambers.

A few small adjustments. A more personal fit.

Find your starting position.

Try the higher edge (the logo side) if you’re around 5′7″ or taller; try the lower edge if you’re shorter. This is a starting point—not a rule. Choose what feels comfortable for your build.

On your side: use an outer chamber.
On your back: settle into the center cradle.

Four adjustment photos: open a chamber, remove some foam, close the zipper, and save or add the foam to adjust support
  1. Open your chosen chamber. Use the zipper on the back of the pillow.
  2. Make a small change. Remove a little fill to lower the loft, or redistribute it for a different feel.
  3. Close it and try your position. Check that your head isn’t tipped noticeably up or down.
  4. Keep the extra fill. Save it in a clean bag and add some back whenever you need more support.

Small changes, one at a time

Not quite right yet?
Here’s what to try.

There’s no universal scoop count. Start with a small change in the chamber you use, test it, and keep track of what feels different.

It feels too high.

Remove a little foam from the chamber beneath your head. Spread the remaining fill evenly, zip it closed and try your usual position again. Check the lower edge before removing a large amount.

It feels too low.

Move fill toward the area that feels under-supported, or return a little of the foam you saved. For side sleeping, also try the higher edge. Avoid changing every chamber at the same time.

The contour feels restricted.

Check the pillowcase. A case that pulls tightly across the pillow can squeeze its shape. Use a roomy king-size case, then reassess the fit before changing the fill again.

Finding a preference can take a few tries, but you don’t need to push through pain. Stop using a setup that causes discomfort. For persistent pain or other symptoms, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional; this guide is about pillow fit, not medical treatment.

What pillowcase should I use?

We recommend a king-size pillowcase with enough room for the pillow’s contours. Avoid a tight case that compresses the outer chambers or pulls across the center cradle. Wash the pillowcase regularly according to its care label.

Can I machine wash the pillow?

No. Do not put the SpineAlign Pillow in a washing machine or dryer. Spot-clean with mild soap and water, then let it air dry completely. Use a separate pillowcase for regular washing.

What is inside, and how large is it?

The original SpineAlign Pillow has a polyester outer fabric, white mesh side panels and shredded polyurethane foam fill. It measures approximately 24″ wide × 17″ long × 5″ high. Its loft changes with the amount and distribution of fill.

Is the height recommendation a rule?

No. The adjustment guide suggests trying the higher logo-side edge first if you are around 5′7″ or taller, and the lower edge if you are shorter. Treat that as an initial experiment. Shoulder width, mattress feel and personal comfort also matter.

Do both outer chambers need the same amount of fill?

No. Adjust each chamber for how you use it. If you use both sides of the pillow, test each one. If you alternate between side and back sleeping, check the outer chamber and the center separately.

How long should I spend adjusting it?

Give yourself time to learn which position and fill level feel comfortable. Make small changes so you can tell what helped, rather than emptying several chambers at once. Don’t continue a setup that feels painful. If you’re unsure how to adjust the pillow, ask our team for fit help.

What should I do with the foam I remove?

Keep it in a clean, dry bag so you can add some back if your preferred fit changes. If you need additional fill, contact info@spinealign.com to ask about current availability.

Is it made for stomach sleeping?

No. The SpineAlign Pillow is designed for side and back sleeping. Its contoured shape is not intended for a face-down sleeping position.

What if I still can’t find my fit?

Contact our team with your usual sleeping position, which edge and chamber you use, and the adjustments you’ve tried. For trial eligibility and return instructions, see our returns policy. Fit guidance does not change the policy’s deadlines or conditions.
