What is Talalay latex?
Talalay Latex is a newer form of latex production.
It's sometimes marketed as a more advanced and superior form of latex. During the Talalay production process, the liquid latex is poured into the mold, but the mold is only partially filled. The mold is then vacuumed, which expands the liquid latex to fill the form.
What is the difference between latex and Talalay latex?
The main difference in feel between the two types of foam is the springiness. While all types of latex foam have a springy and elastic feel, Talalay foam has an extremely springy, “bouncy” feel. Some people prefer this, but many do not like this “bounciness”.
Is Talalay latex better?
Talalay latex is generally more breathable as it is less dense, and allows for better airflow. This results in Talalay offering slightly better temperature neutrality in most circumstances.
What are the benefits of Talalay latex?
Talalay latex is a type of natural latex. It is known for gently cradling the hips and shoulders as you sleep on your side, though any type of sleeper can benefit from Talalay. Talalay latex is also very breathable due to its open cell structure and is a great choice for those who tend to sleep hot.
Is Talalay latex safe?
Safe and Healthy
Talalay latex is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. This certification shows the latex product is safe, free from harmful substances, and not made of synthetic latex. Not many foam or latex producers worldwide meet this third-party, independent certification standard.
It helps regulate temperature and is breathable
Latex is naturally porous, particularly Talalay latex. This means it allows airflow, is breathable, and helps to disperse heat. You don’t get the sweaty, trapped feeling of polyfoam when sleeping on a latex mattress. Instead, the mattress will help your body to regulate its temperature.
Latex is a great choice for hot and cold sleepers. It will help you stay cool but cozy all night, regardless of the season.
Latex is antimicrobial and resists mites and mildew
If you have dust mite allergies or concerns about mold and mildew in your home, latex is a great choice for mattress materials. This natural material resists mildew and doesn’t harbor dust mites.
